Description

** ORIENTATION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. YOU SHOULD SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND MEET WITH YOUR ADVISOR PRIOR TO COMPLETING YOUR ORIENTATION REGISTRATION. **

Orientation is offered as a one day session (8:00am-2:00pm). You will select from 2 optional dates:

  • Session 1 - Tuesday, January 8, 2019
  • Session 2 - Wednesday, January 9, 2019

Orientation is a required program for incoming Freshmen and Transfer students (optional for parents) that helps students get ready for the start of school. At orientation, we will cover the topics that will help you prepare for and successfully navigate your first year at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University. Readmitted, continuing students who have already taken classes at FranU or non-matriculating students are not required to attend these orientation sessions. Students taking only online classes are not required to attend.

Orientation provides new students information which will assist in your academic success at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University. You will learn specifics about the University’s academic requirements and all the campus resources available to you. We strongly recommend your meeting with your advisor and registering for classes prior to your attending orientation. If you have not already registered for classes you will do so at the conclusion of orientation. If you have registered and need to make any class schedule changes such as adding a class or changing a section, you will be able to do this at the conclusion of the session.

Parents are not required to attend, but we strongly encourage parents, guardians, significant others and/or other family members to attend. So much information is new and sometimes confusing; it really helps to have at least two sets of ears.

What to bring? How to prepare?

  • Handout materials will be provided at check in.
  • Dress for orientation is casual and comfortable. We suggest you bring a light sweater in case the room temperature becomes cool.

  • Student ID pictures will be taken during the morning portion of orientation beginning at 8:00am.
